Here is a picture of my first Tiger Trout (a mixture of Brook Trout and Brown Trout).  They can be very aggressive but I managed to get her in pretty quick and she cooperated for the picture.
In four days of fishing four of us landed over 70 large trout (20-24+") and 20 smaller ones (14-18").  For you stillwater fishers, this is a must trip at least once.  Best time in the Fall is the second or third week in September. but I'm pretty sure it is good anytime.  I asked a guide once when was the best time to go fishing?  His answer was, "When you can get out".

Other than the tiger-like pattern, they are called Tigers because they 'pounce' on their prey. We were there just at the start of a boatman "hatch" and apparently they jump out of the water and pounce on them. Unfortunately there was a significant winter kill last year at Twins Lake. But there were a few still around. It will take a couple of years for them to recover. Because of the aeration, they grow as much as 3x faster than trout elsewhere who don't do much in the winter.

I was just about to go to Calabogie and someone called to go after monster bass. I'll be there in a few days. Stay tuned. Rainbows in the area just got stocked this week.

That's great! I'll be fishing limestone tomorrow for the first time, i'm guessing that's one of the lakes stocked this week right? If you have any experience fishing the lake do you have any tips on what flies to tie and where would be a good starting point? Thanks a bunch
