This "new" lake and one of my favorites nearby have recently been invaded by pumpkinseed, no doubt from some idiot using a minnow trap and releasing them. MNR is greatly concerned. If any of you catch a sunfish in any of the trout stocked lakes, please take it out. They greatly decrease the small trout survivability by eating all of their food.
Above is a male who is starting to get its belly colour. Obviously I am fishing in Zone 18 but that is the only hint you will get.
After a rainy day on the water this past Saturday (because of friends), I stopped at a Rainbow lake that I haven't had much luck in recently and after about 45 minutes lucked into a 22 incher. There aren't any fishers out there these days even on Saturdays. I wonder why? (don't bother answering, I know why)
